Bought with a Price

Bought with a Price

In a world that often emphasizes self-sufficiency and individualism, it is easy to forget that we are not our own. The apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 6:20 that we are bought with a price. This truth transforms our understanding of identity and purpose. We belong to God, and our lives are meant to reflect His glory.

When we acknowledge that we are His, we begin to see our bodies and spirits in a new light. Our physical bodies are not mere vessels for our desires; they are temples of the Holy Spirit. This revelation calls us to care for ourselves, to treat our bodies with respect and honor. What we consume, how we rest, and how we engage in the world all matter. Each choice can either glorify God or detract from His glory.

Moreover, our spirits—our thoughts, emotions, and intentions—are to be aligned with His purposes. We are called to nurture our spirits through prayer, worship, and the study of His Word. This is not a burdensome obligation but a joyful expression of gratitude for the price paid for our redemption. Jesus laid down His life, suffering and dying for us, and in return, we can offer our lives back to Him in service and love.

Living in this way requires intentionality. It challenges us to examine our daily choices and their alignment with God's will. Are we glorifying God in our actions, words, and thoughts? Are we reflecting His love and grace in our interactions with others?

As you go about your day, take a moment to reflect on the price that was paid for your life. Let it inspire you to live fully for Him.

Self Assessment Questions:

1. In what areas of my life do I struggle to glorify God with my body?

2. How can I better align my thoughts and intentions with God’s purposes?

3. What practical steps can I take today to honor the price that was paid for me?

Let us embrace our identity in Christ and live each day as a testament to His love and sacrifice. We are bought with a price; let us glorify God in all that we do.
